Videorecording: A rerecording on which visual images, usually in motion and accompanied by sound, have been registered; designed for playback by means of a television set.(前揭書. -- p. 624.)。 根據《中國編目規則修訂二版使用手冊》有關說明文字：\"電影是指一系列攝成的影像，由許多彼此連續相接的靜態畫面組成的長條膠片。錄影資料係指錄有聲音與影像的媒體資料，可以利用錄放影機連接電視機或透過軟體程式加上視訊轉換卡方式，將影像顯示在電腦或電視螢幕上。(參閱：中國編目規則修訂二版使用手冊∕國家圖書館、中國圖書館學會分類編目委員會編，臺北：國家圖書館，2000.12，頁107)。 綜上所述，可知\"電影片\"係指有聲或無聲、快速連續移動影像之記錄；\"錄影資料\"則指有動作、有聲音，可供電視機或電腦播放之視覺影像記錄。兩者均指資料的媒體型式，而非指資料的內容主題。此觀乎《英美編目規則第二版》(1998年修訂版)將\"motion picture\" 及\"videorecording\"列為資料類型標示(General material designation)可知矣。(參閱：前揭書. -- p. 21.)。"
