The article focuses on Cataloging Cultural Objects (CCO) and Resource Description and Access (RDA), the two new metadata content standards. These two metadata content standards are responses by two communities to the realities of information use in this new age. It also discusses the three aspects of the relationship between CCO and RDA and then examines some large-scale commonalities and differences between the two standards to set them in a wider context and establish a frame for further analysis.
